We have provided details on BT Officials: hiring Recalled Officials; lack of leadership during an emergency; changing rules; refusing to reply to the Freedom of Information Act; and lying when they did reply; and more. Text Box: THE EAGLE EYE, TEE for short, has provided information on many issues and events over the last 9 months. There have been considerable financial and personal costs to CCC Members for reporting, editing and publishing TEE. Nearly 700 homes receive TEE. Homes with working class heroes and world weary heroes. Ordinary heroes that need access to information when it affects their safety, security, way of life and pocketbooks. The CCC has been working over a year to educate and inform you about local government issues that impact your lives and livelihood. We began with Text Box: the history of the sewer project. It was not mandated as Supervisor TP states repeatedly. Township Officials signed a Consent Order— after Federal Funds were allocated. We have reported several instances where BT Officials and assignees spent your tax dollars without pre-approval. We have reported on the awful Audits. Over 160 citizens complained about the Tax Assessor a year ago. BT Officials ignored complaints and renewed his contract. Text Box: 4. A list of the tax roll numbers and total number of the special assessments in Phase 1 & 2 of the Sewer Assessment District (SAD); 5. A copy of all Board of Review Minutes for the years 2007 and 2008. The Board ignored all 5 FOIA’s. They did reply to our FOIA for: Maps & information on Phase 3 & 4, and/or any other planned extensions of the SAD. The Board said, “Phase 3 & 4 does not exist.” SEE AUGUST ISSUE OF TEE. Recall that we sent the same FOIA to the US Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, RD. RD provided a map of Phase 3 and more. We need a Township Board that reveals information. Text Box: The November election is about more than the sewer. It’s about the need for leaders who are responsible and accountable. It’s about the need for leaders who have the strength of character to lead by example. It’s about the need for leaders who believe in government transparency. The CCC has made several Freedom of Information Act requests. We have requested: 1. Copies of Billings Township Board Officials’ signed Oaths of Office; 2. The Total Project Budget Sheet of Phase I & II of the sewer; 3. A list of the Parcel Numbers of parcels released from the special assessment in Phase 1 & 2; Text Box: REVEAL OR CONCEAL?
